Dr Gusztáv Font

Exotic Animal Specialist

info@cityvet.hu

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

These words by Anatole France have followed me throughout my career, capturing my childhood love of animals that later inspired my pursuit of a degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine, which I received in 1995. Over the years, I have worked as a small animal veterinarian in Holland, Austria, and Germany, then in the United States and Ecuador. I returned to Hungary four years later with invaluable experience, and I have been working at the City Centre Veterinary Clinic since 1999. In the last decade, my focus has turned to new innovative specialisations: In 2005, I studied stem cells as a PhD student at Semmelweis University, then, in 2008, I obtained a specialist degree in exotic animals.

Aside from being a veterinarian, much of my life is occupied by my love of sports, which I am currently trying to put to use in the field of sports diplomacy. In 2011, I was elected as Hungary’s FIDE delegate, and in 2014, I obtained a FIDE trainer degree.

I am married, and the father of two magnificent children.
